Someone sent me an email with a link to a video about a robot called BigDog. It's pretty amazing, actually.

At first the thing seemed so creepy I thought I was going to have nightmares about it. It's like a giant mutant insect. By the end of the video I almost felt like it was a real animal - and it didn't seem quite so buglike. Though I wouldn't want to get on its bad side. If it's going to be used as a military tool, I would not want to be on the other side. If it doesn't work out for the military, I think it has a great future in sci-fi horror flicks! Can't you just see hundreds of them swarming through a field?

I think one of those would have been right at home in last year's Blue Mound WEMS race!!
