Hmmmm

I just made the (big) mistake of looking at the start lists for the USGP of Cross in KY that is this weekend. There are only 4 cat 3/4 women. An unexpected temptation. At one time I had considered going to watch the pro races. Then I decided I needed to stay here so as not to miss any series races, hoping to do well in the series. But now that I can see that I likely won't be in contention for placing in the series, trying for a 5th (or whatever) place in KY, just for the fun of being there, is an idea that has just presented itself.... crazy, I know. I didn't even know there was a Cat 4 women's race until now. I am surprised there aren't more IL/WI 1,2,3 women signed up, we have some really fast ones that could do well.

The USGP event is going to be awesome. Check out this contraption they built for the race. Getting to see the Pros race is well worth the drive.

thanks for the link. that about convinces me that I do not want to race there, I am not at all prepared for SIX sand pits and that nasty-looking ramp. But, it looks like a blast for spectating! wow.

I don't know who's going where, do you? Are you going to Washington Park instead of Chicago or KY? I did that race once and it was a blast. The costumes alone were great. (I did get attacked by a hidden pointy tree branch, though, really painful. Evil Halloween tree!)
