Sunday night I sat down at the computer to read Blue Mound race reports and write my own report, when the phone rang. A friend was calling spur of the moment to see if I wanted to see the movie "Once". It sounded kinda cool, so even though it was late, and in spite of a million other things I should have been doing, I went to the movie. It was pretty good. It revolves around amateur musicians - specifically a street musician who is trying to break into the music biz and at the same time get the courage to win his old girlfriend back. The music was the best thing about it, to me. I liked it. It ended kind of abruptly - I wished it had kept on going long enough to let us know more about what happens to the main characters. If you like folky, acoustic-y indie music, you might like this movie.
I've been busy since then, but I am going to get to my race report, eventually. There are plenty of more interesting ones out there, anyway!
Friday night before I hit the grocery store I stopped by the Tour de France party at Turin. It was fun. I should have been at home preparing for Blue Mound, but it was great to see some peeps I hadn't seen in a long time. Then I went to the store to get food for the weekend. I didn't make it to bed until almost two, due to packing, bottle filling, tire filling, chain lubing, etc., and then I couldn't fall asleep. One of these days I'll get a good night's sleep before a race! Luckily I didn't have to get up until 8 to make it for the afternoon race.
