A friend of mine recently found her lost cell phone under the hood of her car (!!!) and it had gotten very wet. She let it dry out for a couple of weeks, then she turned it on this week and it worked! She had borrowed another phone as a replacement. Obviously most people don't have a couple of weeks to wait while it dries - but a couple of days, and no hair dryer, makes a difference, apparently.
