Useless Information

Ever wonder where all the cabs go at night? I didn't think so. But I read that Skokie just passed a law that cabs can't park on the streets at night anymore. Which made me more likely to notice that there are a LOT of cabs parked on Sheridan Road in Rogers Park late at night. I really noticed them the other night, when I was driving there late at night. Last night when I was driving there late again, I decided to actually count (in the rain, of course). I counted 65 cabs in about a mile or so stretch, from the Loyola El station to just south of Howard. One block had nothing but cabs on one side. I guess the cabbies all live in the buildings on Sheridan? Or maybe commercial vehicles are allowed on Sheridan but not on the side streets in Chicago. One of those things you never think about until something brings it to your attention.
